Monday - Friday position (part-time considered)

TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT PROVIDED- on a weekly basis for those who live 30 miles away or more.

 

Position Description:

 

A Wound Care Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in a skilled rehab nursing home by overseeing and coordinating all aspects of wound care for residents. This position requires a highly skilled and knowledgeable individual who can provide comprehensive wound assessment, treatment, and education to promote optimal wound healing and resident well-being. A Wound Care Registered Nurse collaborates with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement effective wound care plans. Additionally, a Wound Care nurse stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in wound care management and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

 

 

Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for overseeing the Wound Care Measures

  • Must have up-to-date MMR vaccination & physical

  • Responsible for overseeing the infection control program

  • Communicate changes in residents' conditions to IDT and other partners as appropriate

  • Participate in the on-call rotation with other nursing supervisors

  • Flexible working hours

  • Attend Quality Measures meeting and report on applicable information

  • Attend and prepare for weekly Case Management meetings

  • Includes but not limited to items listed on the Registered Nurse Job Description

  • Ability to educate partners by conducting in-services and one on one learning

  • Ability to investigate, track and trend identified areas of opportunities

  • Develop action plans for areas of needed improvement

  • Provide partner support and coaching

  • Passion for wound care and healing residents

  • Passion for infection control measures

 

Registered Nurse Requirements:

 

  • A current NYS Registered Nurse license required

  • Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Excellent time management skills
