As a staff nurse you are instrumental in managing operations of your assigned unit. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect at Westview Care Center by assisting with supervising the activities of all clinical staff on your assigned unit, providing guidance and education to clinical staff, assisting with instilling a positive and inclusive facility culture, ensuring established infection prevention practices are maintained and ensuring adequate staffing for our resident’s needs. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive an unparalleled standard of care.

The Behavioral Health Nurse is an integral member of Behavioral Health Service Line and works collaboratively with the treatment team members and providers in the various inpatient and outpatient programs offered at Mercy. The Behavioral Health Nurse works closely with community partners to ensure successful transition of care and promotes education to the public on Behavioral Health-related topics through various forums. The Behavioral Health Nurse is responsible for carrying out duties as a health coach as well as utilizing skills as a psychiatric nurse in various care areas when needed, including but not limited to the Intensive Outpatient Program and Psych Triage in the Emergency Department. What you will Do: Assesses and evaluates individuals' physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs. Works collaboratively with the Behavioral Health inpatient and outpatient teams to achieve desired patient care outcomes and ensure a smooth transition of care Provides, facilitates, and/or implements learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patients, families or members of the community. When required, documents patient information in the electronic/paper medical record in an accurate, timely manner Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.
