River Hills Health and Rehab is seeking a reliable and compassionate Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to join our clinical team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring residents receive medications safely and timely while providing excellent resident care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications as ordered by the physician and within scope of practice
- Accurately document medication administration in accordance with facility policy
- Observe residents for changes in condition and report concerns to the licensed nurse
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Ensure proper medication storage, handling, and documentation
- Follow infection control and safety protocols
- Provide compassionate, resident-centered care at all times
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team
Qualifications:
- Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification in Texas required
- Active CNA certification in good standing preferred (or required, depending on your facility)
- Previous experience in long-term care preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration and safety practices
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift (8a–8p), including weekends and holidays as needed
- Dependable, compassionate, and team-oriented
- Must be able to pass background screening and meet health requirements
