Water’s Edge Rehab & Nursing Center at Port Jefferson is seeking an experienced and motivated RN Unit Manager to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about resident care, staff development, and quality outcomes.

Position Summary

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations on their assigned unit, ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and effective staff performance.

RN Unit Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all nursing care for assigned unit

  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Conduct resident assessments and care plan development

  • Monitor clinical documentation and quality indicators

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and administration

  • Participate in survey preparation and quality improvement initiatives

  • Address resident and family concerns in a professional manner

RN Unit Manager Qualifications

  • Active RN license in New York (required)

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing

  • Prior supervisory or unit management experience preferred

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and clinical best practices

Salary: up to $120,000 annually
