Position Summary
The On-Call Caregiver is responsible for being available to provide immediate caregiving support when scheduled caregivers are unavailable, call off, or when emergency client coverage is needed. This role ensures continuity of care for clients by stepping in on short notice while maintaining professionalism, compassion, and high-quality care standards.

We need in-home caregivers to work in Hot Springs, Hot Springs Village, Malvern, Arkadelphia, Jessieville, Lake Hamilton, Fountain Lake, Mt. Ida, Glenwood, Bismarck and all surrounding areas.
We need dedicated and hardworking caregivers who are dependable, dedicated, compassionate and willing to go above and beyond for our clients, as well as commit to following our agencies’ code of ethics.
On-Call Caregivers must be dependable, flexible, and ready to travel to various client locations as needed.
Compensation Summary
$25.00 per day to be available for On-Call (Friday starting at 5pm – Sunday ending at (midnight)-12pm) with an additional $16.00 per hour when filling shifts for call outs, emergency fill-ins, etc. (Friday starting at 5pm – Sunday ending at (midnight)-12pm)
Working anytime throughout the week Monday-Friday till 5pm would be paid at a regular caregiver start rate of $14.00 an hour.

· If you work overtime (more than 40 hours in a workweek), you will be paid at time and a half your regular, hourly rate for hours worked over 40 hours.
· If you work on any of our 8 Holidays, you will be paid at time and a half your regular, hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities
1. Availability & Responsiveness
Remain available during assigned on-call hours.
Respond promptly to calls, texts, or messages from the office regarding open shifts or emergency coverage.
Be prepared to travel to client homes within a reasonable timeframe when contacted.
2. Client Care
Provide non-medical in-home care services including but not limited to. Clients set schedules, so there are a variety of shifts to choose from.
2 hours to 12-hour shifts
Days, Evenings, Overnight, Weekends
Assistance with personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting)
Assistance with mobility and transfers
Meal preparation and feeding assistance
Medication reminders (non-medical)
Companionship and emotional support
Light housekeeping and maintaining a clean-living environment
Assisting with errands or transportation if required
3. Documentation
Complete required caregiver notes or documentation accurately and promptly.
Report any changes in a client’s condition to the office immediately.
4. Professional Conduct
Represent the agency with professionalism, reliability, and compassion.
Maintain confidentiality of client information.
Adhere to all safety protocols and caregiving standards.
Follow all policies and procedures, APAH policies, Arkansas State Rules and Regulations, VA Rules and Regulations, HIPPA
Requirements
Must meet all state requirements for non-medical caregivers.
Ability to travel to different client locations.
Ability to respond to coverage needs on short notice.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently.
Minimum of 1 year’s experience
Rotating weekends (working two weekends a month)
Reporting to shift within 30 minutes of the call
Required signature of an On-Call agreement stating the terms and conditions of position
Valid Driver’s License
Reliable transportation to and from work
Able to pass a criminal background check
Able to pass a drug screening
Physical Requirements
Ability to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
Ability to stand, bend, and lift as needed for caregiving duties.
Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Work Schedule
On-Call Caregivers must remain available during their assigned on-call shifts.
May include evenings, overnight hours, weekends, and holidays depending on agency needs.
