Now Hiring: Experienced Stroke Recovery Caregiver (Non-Medical In-Home Care)

Are you an experienced caregiver with a heart for helping others regain independence after a stroke? We are seeking a compassionate and reliable In-Home Caregiver with stroke recovery experience to support a client with non-medical care needs in the comfort of their home.

This role is ideal for caregivers who are patient, attentive, and experienced assisting clients with mobility challenges and daily living activities.

Caregiver Responsibilities

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting

  • Provide safe transfers and mobility assistance (bed to wheelchair, chair to standing, etc.)

  • Support stroke recovery routines and encourage independence when possible

  • Provide companionship and emotional support to promote overall well-being

  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding support if needed

  • Help with light housekeeping and maintaining a safe environment

  • Provide medication reminders (non-medical)

  • Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition to the care team

  • Communicate respectfully with the client and family members

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ years caregiving experience in senior or in-home care

  • Experience working with stroke recovery clients strongly preferred

  • Experience assisting with transfers, toileting, bathing, and mobility support

  • Knowledge of safe transfer techniques and fall prevention

  • Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to follow a care plan and work independently

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

  • Must meet California Home Care Aide (HCA) requirements including background check and TB test

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with gait belts, transfer techniques, or mobility aids

  • Experience assisting clients with limited mobility or one-sided weakness (common after stroke)

  • Ability to encourage light activity and engagement for recovery support including PT type exercises safely.
