Right at Home Westborough is seeking a compassionate, patient, and attentive caregiver to provide in-home support for a client who lives in Upton, MA with his parents in a single-family home. The caregiver will assist with daily personal care, mobility, companionship, and light household tasks while ensuring safety and maintaining a calm, structured environment.
The client is non-verbal but understands communication. He has cerebral palsy with spastic quadriplegia, G-J tubes, and a seizure disorder. He requires total assistance with mobility and personal care. Caregivers must be gentle, speak softly, and always explain care before providing it to prevent startling.
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 4:30pm–8:30pm (Evening Shift)
Job Responsibilities
Provide hands-on personal care including dressing, incontinence care, hygiene, and bathing (parent assistance provided for bathing)
Perform rolling in bed during personal care with one-person assist
Perform safe Hoyer lift transfers (one-person assist for bed to/from wheelchair transfers; two-person assist for bathing)
Apply and remove braces, splints, and body equipment as trained
Set up and assist with chest therapy (training provided)
Follow strict infection control and safety precautions at all times
Provide companionship and keep client engaged throughout the shift
Complete light housekeeping tasks related to the client (laundry, linens, organizing supplies, cleaning wheelchair)
Monitor for seizures or medical concerns and report immediately to parents and agency
Qualifications
Active CNA or HHA certification (required)
Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience (required)
Experience with Hoyer lifts and total-care clients (required)
Comfortable providing full hands-on care
Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, auto insurance, health physical, and Fit for Duty note from physician
Ability to pass a background check
