About this unit 8 South Neuro is a 52-bed progressive/medical surgical, comprehensive Stroke certified unit that offers a solid foundation in nursing for new grads. The unit has a focus on acute strokes, neurosurgical interventions, such as craniotomies, spine procedures and VP shunts. In addition, a 4-bed epilepsy monitoring unit. The unit is fast-paced and offers many learning opportunities. About the unit The unit, 3CN/4CN/5CN offer a dynamic patient care experience. 3CN is a ten-bed unit who specializes in general surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients. We are the only progressive care unit in the hospital that can monitor arterial lines. 4CN is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgery unit. We receive patients directly from the ICU and we can monitor patients who are on various anti-arrhythmics. 5CN is focused on discharge plan and readiness.
