Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity working closely with a remarkable student in a school setting near Bayonne, NJ. This full-time, onsite position spans 30-32 hours per week, aligning with school hours from 8:45 am to 2:00 pm, and runs from ASAP until June 22, 2026. While there's no ESY commitment, continued presence will be requested through the 2026-2027 school year.
This unique role centers around providing compassionate one-on-one care to a male 7th grade student. You'll be an important support, both on campus and while bus riding, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the school day.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Current LPN, LVN, or RN license, with experience in the school environment
- Demonstrated expertise in asthma care and seizure management
- Proficiency with G-tube feeding, catheterization, toileting, and diapering
- Comfort and reliability in providing bus-riding assistance as needed
- Experience working 1:1 with students who have specialized healthcare needs is highly valued
- Strong communication skills to liaise with educators, administrators, and families
- Compassionate, adaptable, and attentive to detail
Primary Responsibilities:
- Delivering direct care and supervision for a student with significant medical needs, including during bus transport
- Monitoring and managing asthma, responding swiftly to symptoms or needs
- Administering G-tube feedings, managing catheters, assisting with toileting, and supporting with diapering
- Providing seizure care, offering immediate intervention as required
- Serving as a consistent and caring presence throughout the school day
