Responsibilities

The Gastroenterology (GI) Department is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant/Associate to join their busy, growing community practice. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will have primarily clinic responsibilities but will eventually be trained to cover the inpatient practice if our hospital APP is away on PTO or at guard duty. The APP will work collaboratively with all GI physicians and work independently to provide for the patient’s needs. This position requires direct patient care and telemedicine.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Obtain GI specific histories and physicals.
Order, interpret, diagnose, and communicate diagnostic results to patients and care team members.
Devise and implement care plans.
Facilitate and deliver patient education regarding GI conditions.
Provide GI follow-up care.
Provide care that is unique and specialized to Gastroenterology, nutrition, and hepatology.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current MN RN and APRN license and certification as an ANP, FNP, or ACNP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the MN State Board of Medical Practice.

Additional Qualifications:

Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within one year of hire date.
Experience is strongly preferred; we will consider new graduates.
Possess ability to work independently/autonomously and collaboratively with other health care professionals.
Have extensive patient assessment skills using diagnostic methods and instruments and possess ability to develop appropriate plan of care, modifying as indicated.
Possess effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with patients, families and members of health care team.
Candidate must practice patient-centered evidence-based care.

Highlights Thrive in team-oriented environments with providers, MAs, nurses, and other support staff. Monday-Friday outpatient only schedule, with some potential extended hours. Opportunity to work a 4-day work week. Our providers see a good mix of chronic and acute patients across the lifespan. Basic in office procedures performed in clinic, based on provider comfort level and preference. Light phone call rotations of clinic phone call only. Our acute care hospitals are staffed with Hospitalists to handle any inpatient coverage. This is a full-time position with a 36-hour patient contact hour work expectation. This is a hospital employed position with access to a large, existing in house specialty care referral base. Integrated EPIC EMR platform utilized system-wide throughout the organization with newly implemented ambient AI technology (Abridge) available. Qualifications Master s degree or higher in nursing from an accredited program. 2-3 years of ARNP experience is required. Primary Care experience is highly preferred. Active Washington State license or ability to obtain a Washington State license before start. Must have active BLS certification before starting or within first week of employment. The hospital features a full range of services including the latest surgery techniques, including multiple surgical robots; renal dialysis; a well-appointed Family Birth Center; compressive diagnostic imaging and an advanced heart and vascular institute with the only cardiac catheterization labs in the area. Cascade Valley Hospital is licensed for 48 beds with a Level IV Trauma Center and a Level II Nursery. The hospital features a full range of services including acute care, critical care, and general surgery. The facility also offers a number of support services such as an in-house laboratory, rehabilitation program, and comprehensive diagnostic imaging.
