Diploma in Nursing or
Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required or
BSN preferred
Other - CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required
2 years of NICU experience preferred
RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days required
NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 90 days and maintained annually required

What You Will Do

Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

This individual is a member of the treatment team providing professional level of nursing care to patients under minimum supervision and consultation. This is a complex position which directs and guides activities on the unit and assignments of ancillary personnel assigned to unit and shift. Duties and Responsibilities: Calls the appropriate team member (i.e. Medical Director) with all non-life threatening medical and medication issues to obtain guidance regarding his plan of action for the client. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, all staff members are authorized to contact emergency services by dialing 911.
