The unit cares primarily for adolescent and adult patients who have traumatic injuries, and orthopedic trauma. Additionally, patients requiring telemetry monitoring may be cared for on this unit. Typical patient injuries can be comprised of rib fractures, distal orthopedic injuries, traumatic spinal injuries, closed head injuries with and without state of confusion, traumatic amputations, hemothorax’s, pneumothoraxes, and etc. Here’s What You Need Associate degree or Nursing Diploma required BSN preferred One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program. Current BLS (required) –prior to providing independent patient care.
