Job Description

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more for the admitted patients in the ED.

Principal Accountabilities

Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
Records patient vital signs and medical information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.

Minimum Experience

1-2 years of experience in Cardiac/Telemetry as a registered nurse

Certifications

BLS required
ACLS will be required prior to completing orientation
PALS to be completed within one year of hire date with the exception of pediatrics
