Job Summary: Perform routine care, provide for the comfort of the patient, and communicate according to protocol, the CNA acts as a key link in the healthcare team. Reports to: Director, Inpatient Services and RN Supervisor Hourly Rate: $20.50 - $30.43 (hourly rate does not include overtime or bonuses which are not guaranteed) Essential Job Functions: Organize and provide basic nursing care for patients and their families. Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks. Basic knowledge of procedures, policies, standards of care. Ability to follow directions, established procedures and protocols. Provide assistance to patients with activities of daily living (ADL’s) for which they need help, such as bathing, combing hair, oral hygiene, shaving, putting on stockings and/or slippers, dressing, ambulation and toileting. Helping patients with equipment for their treatment such as anti-embolic stockings, bladder scanner, intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) devices, CPM’s, Incentive spirometers, etc. Taking of vitals (blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration). Frequency of vital signs can range from three times per day to more often consult PCU vital sign policy for details. Input and Output: Measuring a patient’s input and output may be a critical part of their daily assessment and treatment. One may be required to observe and record daily I&O’s. Assist in helping patients move, transfer from bed to chair, or transporting to other departments following specific protocols to avoid injury.
