Restorative Nurse RN Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs restorative care services, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
- Meets with administration, medical and nursing staff, therapy department, as well as other related departments in planning restorative care.
- Develops and maintains restorative care standards.
- Assists the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified deficiencies
- Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing restorative care services.
- Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
- Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc.
- Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
- Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
- Develops and participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel
- Provides licensed care to assigned residents as ordered by physician and in accordance with facility, federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations
- Makes written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of shift as required.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Restorative Nurse RN Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Serves as the expert in Restorative Care.
- Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
- Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
- Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
Restorative Nurse RN Education and Experience:
- Current CPR Certification required.
- Nursing Degree or diploma from an accredited College or University.
- Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Registered Nurse.
- 1 year of restorative experience preferred.
- Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
- Long-Term care experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
- Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
