To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

As a minimum, an unencumbered State of South Dakota Nurse Practitioner license and Registered Nurse, RN license.
National Certification from an accredited body such as AANP or ANCC.
Five years experience as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
Previous experience in geriatrics, skilled nursing or long term care preferred.

Surgical procedures include repair of congenital heart defects and permanent pacemaker insertion. Medical interventions include management of acute/chronic heart failure, septic shock, renal and respiratory failure. Critically ill children are cared for with such treatment modalities as mechanical ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, ventricular assist devices, temporary pacemaker therapy, peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy and acute hemodialysis. The Nurse Practitioner will act as a full member of the team taking responsibility for the safe delivery of care in collaboration with attending physicians, fellows and residents. This team member will meet productivity expectations as set forth by the Division Chief, performing any duties related to patient care activities that are appropriate and clearly delineated.
