Registered Nurse - Neurosurgery Ambulatory

Job Description The incumbent utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, and address the individualized needs of patients within the Neuroendocrine/Pituitary program at the Parnassus Neurosurgery Clinic. This role supports both surgical and non-surgical patients, providing comprehensive care coordination and patient education across the continuum of care. Responsibilities include guiding patients through the surgical pathway, including pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery expectations, as well as ongoing outpatient management for pituitary and neuroendocrine conditions. The RN serves as a key clinical resource for patients and providers, delivering education, triaging clinical concerns, and facilitating timely access to care. The incumbent provides clinical support to neurosurgery and neuro-endocrine physicians and multidisciplinary team members, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. This individual adheres to the policies and procedures of the Neurosurgery Faculty Practice and maintains compliance with all UCSF Ambulatory Services and Medical Center standards related to infection control, safety, and clinical and administrative practices. Responsibilities Outpatient ambulatory RN supporting the Neuro-Endocrine practice. Responsibilities include triaging MyChart messages, processing medication refill requests, coordinating laboratory orders, reviewing and triaging test results, and providing clinical support and patient education to ensure timely and effective care. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Three (3) years of ambulatory RN experience in endocrinology, neurosurgery, or other complex specialty clinics Demonstrated ability to manage high patient volume and complex care coordination Clinical assessment skills: labs, patient education, and triage of urgent concerns Experience with pre/post operative care, especially for pituitary or neurosurgical changes, hormone replacement therapy Ability to triage patient calls and escalate appropriately Knowledge of endocrine disorders, post op neurosurgery care, pituitary tumor management Familiarity with billing, prior authorizations, and insurance requirements in specialty clinics. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Preferred Qualifications Three (3) years or more of RN clinical experience in-patient neurosurgery Familiarity with billing, prior authorizations, and insurance requirements in specialty clinics. Monitor patient conditions and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care. Participate in on-call and late stay shifts as required. Minimum of 3-5 years combined experience in PACU, ICU, CCU, with minimum 1year Cath Lab experience. Possess the knowledge of both diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures, which include equipment, accessories, surgical procedures, sterile technique, patient One (1) year of directly relatable RN employment experience in Cardiac Electrophysiology lab, Interventional Radiology (IR) or Cardiac Catheterization lab. Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in nursing or equivalent professional experience, one of which is a year of recent experience in critical care with demonstrated knowledge of homodynamic monitoring. Ability to provide education to patients based on plan of care, procedural guidelines, and University standards. Job Description The UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland (OR) consists of 11 surgical suites and 1 procedural. Our primary focus is multidisciplinary team-based approach and staffing. Services include, but are not limited to: Neurology, Ortho/Spine, Otolaryngology, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology, Dental, Cardiac, General Surgery, GI, Hem/Onc. Registered Nurse - Occupational Health

Job Description Under the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor, Administrative Director, and the Medical Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing direct clinical care to employees under standardized procedures and for participating in Occupational Health programs such as medical surveillance, outbreak and exposure response. Responsibilities Covers clinic drop-in services for TB surveillance and vaccinations; administers TB skin tests, symptom reviews and vaccinations; counsels TB converters and reactors, determines appropriate follow-up care for employees with positive results. Review diagnostic tests in accordance with department policies and protocols. Monitors OHS emails, APeX and MyChart pools; responds to patient communications, enters data in employee health database. Provides preplacement medical interviews, urine drug screening, physical screenings and/or examinations on newly hired Health and Campus personnel to determine suitability for employment. Triages employees who have sustained work-related injuries and illnesses. Schedules appointments as needed. Provides health screening and immunization clearance for the student population. Performs return to work evaluations. Performs Mask fit testing. Provides care based upon provider orders including but not limited to TB skin tests, vaccinations, applying splints, dressing changes, POCT, discharge instructions and education. Documents and maintains pertinent data in records and databases. Ensures all new employees have completed appropriate screening. Provides regular reports and communications to other departments and agencies. Maintains employee, patient and department confidentiality.
