Minimum Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
    • Graduate of an ACEN or CCNEaccredited nursing program
    • Education equivalency substitutions are not permitted
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of RN experience within the past 2 years
    • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience within that same timeframe
  • Licensure:
    • Current, full, active, and unrestricted RN license from any U.S. state or territory
  • Certifications (Required – InPerson Only):
    • BLS (American Heart Association – Healthcare Provider)
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • TNCC

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapidly assess, prioritize, and manage emergent, nonemergent, and lifethreatening conditions for patients of all ages
  • Recognize and interpret normal and abnormal vital signs
  • Perform and interpret 12lead ECGs
  • Conduct focused physical assessments and respond appropriately to clinical changes
  • Operate and monitor Emergency Department equipment, including:
    • Defibrillators, cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, suction devices, and rapid infusers
  • Assist with emergency and trauma procedures
  • Perform:
    • IV insertion and laboratory specimen collection
    • Arterial blood gases (ABGs)
    • Gastric tube and urinary catheter placement
    • Central line care and maintenance
  • Independently administer, monitor, titrate, and reconstitute critical care and emergency medications
  • Perform moderate sedation
  • Manage Emergency Department patient flow, including triage, admissions, transfers, and referrals
