Overview

Clinical RN Supervisor – Cardiac Catheterization Lab

Location: Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, ME

Full-time | Nights | 8-Hour Shifts

 

The Clinical Nursing Supervisor (RN) provides clinical leadership, administrative oversight, and operational support for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Collaborates with the Director/Manager to ensure safe, high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient departmental operations. Assumes administrative responsibility in the absence of leadership and supports staff supervision, patient care coordination, and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate Cath Lab nursing staff during assigned shifts
  • Support unit operations, staffing, workflow, and resource management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital regulations (CMS, Joint Commission)
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives, staff education, and orientation
  • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Assess patient care needs and guide staff in care plan implementation
  • Support cardiac procedures (diagnostic/interventional caths, PCI) as needed
  • Provide direct patient care within RN scope of practice
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

    • FACILITY / UNIT TRAINING

  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
  • Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
  • Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
