Position Overview Unit Manager – Nurse | (Offering up to $7,000 Sign-On Bonus for Full-Time Nurses)
Heritage Grove Estates is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse to serve as a Unit Manager within our skilled nursing environment. This leadership role combines clinical oversight with team management, ensuring high-quality resident care, staff performance, and regulatory compliance across an assigned unit.
As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for supervising nursing staff, coordinating care delivery, and maintaining clinical excellence on your unit. You will serve as a key liaison between residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team, ensuring care is delivered efficiently, safely, and in alignment with facility standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily clinical operations of the assigned unit, ensuring quality care delivery and appropriate staffing levels
Provide leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff, including CNAs
Conduct regular rounds to assess resident condition, monitor care delivery, and ensure adherence to care plans
Perform comprehensive assessments and coordinate clinical interventions as needed
Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic procedures in accordance with physician orders and regulatory standards
Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Collaborate with physicians, therapy, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
Participate in care plan meetings and communicate updates with residents and families
Monitor and address clinical issues, including infection control, wound care, and changes in resident condition
Support staff development through coaching, training, and performance management
Assist with scheduling, staffing coordination, and addressing call-ins as needed
Ensure compliance with all CMS, state, and facility regulations and policies
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current, active Nursing license in the State of Kansas
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
Demonstrated ability to lead, delegate, and support a clinical team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
