Step into a fulfilling position supporting student health in a school setting! This contract role offers the opportunity to make a real impact—providing direct care as an on-bus nurse. You’ll ensure the well-being of students requiring specialized medical support during transport, including the administration of Diastat and careful monitoring for seizures.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN or LPN license
  • Prior experience in pediatric, school, or community health nursing
  • Proficiency in administering emergency medications, specifically Diastat
  • Strong assessment skills, with particular attention to seizure disorders
  • Calm, compassionate, and adaptable in fast-changing or emergent situations
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff
  • Able to travel on school buses daily and maintain situational awareness throughout each route

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accompany students on designated school bus routes to and from school
  • Administer Diastat as prescribed for students with seizure disorders
  • Monitor for and respond to seizure activity or medical events, following individualized healthcare plans
  • Document all care provided accurately and promptly
  • Communicate effectively with school nurses, transportation personnel, and families
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for students during transport
  • Remain vigilant, proactive, and ready to intervene as needed during the entire shift

This is a full-time contract position, offering over 30 hours per week. Compensation ranges between $40 and $45 per hour, depending on licensure and experience.
