POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

How you’ll make an impact in this role Assist with patients/participants care activities. Assist with procedures ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN). Accommodate patients/participants with tending to personal care, activities of daily living and transfers/transport. Report findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Assist with keeping patients/participants rooms clean and orderly. Monitor patients/participants environment for safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate, as needed. What minimum requirements you’ll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Nurse Aide credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
