Job Summary

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) is responsible for administering medications and providing daily resident care in accordance with state and federal regulations, physician orders, and facility policies. This role works closely with nursing staff to ensure safe, accurate, and compassionate care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments per physician orders and MAR

  • Verify resident identity, dosage, and timing prior to medication administration

  • Observe residents during medication administration and document appropriately

  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report concerns to nursing staff

  • Document medication administration and reasons for withheld medications

  • Maintain accurate medication records and restock medication inventories

  • Assist with personal care including bathing, toileting, grooming, and mobility

  • Provide meal assistance, hydration, snacks, and supplements per care plans

  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs

  • Communicate effectively with Med Techs, CNAs, and nursing staff

  • Assist nurses during treatments and examinations

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and resident-centered environment

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Active CMT/CNA certification in the state of Missouri (required)

  • Completion of a State-Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Program

  • Name listed on the State Nurse Aide Registry in good standing

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (preferred)

  • Current BLS/CPR certification

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
