Responsibilities

The Clinical Supervisor is a member of the unit-based leadership team. Provides supervision of the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Three (3) years experience in clinical area with a minimum of one (1) year in area of specialty OR

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing with two (2) years of experience in clinical area with a minimum of one (1) year in area of specialty.

Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Compact (NLC/eNLC) or Multistate license

Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.

PREFERRED:

Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.

Work Hours:

7AM-7PM

The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Performs patient assessments to include collection of data regarding the patient's physical, psychosocial and health history. 2. Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments and patient/family education. 3. Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs. Identifies expected patient outcomes. 4. Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes. 5. Overview: We are a 13-bed unit with 4 overflow antepartum rooms, 2 OR suites and a new 4 bed OB-ED. We have 24/7 coverage by a Hospitalist, along with a great group of physicians. Any laboring mom or preterm mom greater than 20 weeks may be seen on this unit; along with postpartum moms needing to be readmitted. Our goal is to adhere to the AWHONN standards. We closely monitor staffing to patient census which means-1:2 laboring patients, 1:1 active labor or C-section, 1:3 antepartum patients and 1:4 triage/OB-ED. We provide patient centered care as the entire health care team work together to care for mother and baby.
