We are seeking a Registered Medical Assistant to join our patient-centered team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful patient relationships, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and values teamwork while providing exceptional care to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and prepare patients for examinations and treatments according to practice procedures and protocols

Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and other pertinent medical information in the electronic medical record

Collect laboratory specimens and assist with diagnostic testing as needed

Prepare rooms, equipment, and supplies for examinations, procedures, and patient care needs

Assist Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians with minor procedures and physical examinations

Perform minor clinical procedures including suture/staple removal, application of dressings, splints, casts, and related tasks within scope of practice

Clean and disinfect equipment according to departmental policies and infection control standards

Assist with scheduling appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, referrals, and prior authorizations

Support patient communication through incoming calls and patient portal messages, routing information appropriately to providers and nursing staff

Maintain accurate documentation and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards

Participate in departmental meetings, process improvement initiatives, and team collaboration activities

May perform scribe duties with approved training and validated competencies

Promote a positive patient experience through professionalism, empathy, teamwork, and excellent communication

What We’re Looking For

Registered Medical Assistant credential required

Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program, OR

Completion of a medical assistant program accredited by a regional or national accrediting organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, including a minimum of 720 clock hours and a 160-hour externship

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a clinic or medical practice setting preferred

Current Health Care Provider CPR certification preferred or must successfully complete prior to completion of orientation

Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred

Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, laboratory values, medical terminology, aseptic technique, infection control, and patient safety practices preferred

Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements preferred

Strong critical thinking, organizational, and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively

Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional healthcare software systems

Commitment to professionalism, integrity, empathy, and high-quality patient care

Must successfully complete all onboarding education, required competencies, and practice within Logan Health MA/UAP scope of practice guidelines
