Charter Senior Living of Dartmouth is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) / Health & Wellness Director to lead our clinical operations and wellness team.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and creating a culture centered around compassion, accountability, and excellence.

Resident care and outcomes
Team leadership and staffing
Compliance and survey readiness
Family communication
Operational support and collaboration
What You’ll Own
Oversee all clinical operations for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents
Lead, mentor, and support caregiving and wellness staff
Manage resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation
Ensure compliance with Massachusetts state regulations and company standards
Oversee medication management and resident wellness programs
Coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management
Partner with the Executive Director and department leaders to support overall community success
Communicate professionally with residents, families, physicians, and outside providers
Maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and compliance reviews
What We’re Looking For
Current Massachusetts RN or LPN license required
Current CPR certification required
3–5 years of Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Long-Term Care experience preferred
Previous leadership or management experience strongly preferred
Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) preferred
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to lead teams while maintaining strong resident and family relationships
Available for occasional nights/weekends and community on-call responsibilities

Physical Requirements
Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to assist with resident transfers (up to 80 lbs with support equipment)
Standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the shift
