Job Summary: The Licensed Vocational Nurse II is responsible for the total nursing care of assigned patients in accordance with provider's orders under the guidance and supervision of the nurse in charge. Essential Job Functions & Accountabilities: Delivers quality nursing care to assigned groups of patients while minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, harm, or injury. Records patients' medical information and vital signs. Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Conducts specified laboratory tests. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and records. Completes documentation to meet regulatory standards, policies, and procedures. Provides patient education directed towards identified knowledge deficits. Guides, educates, and provides leadership as a preceptor to LVNs and non-licensed clinical staff, as directed. Participates in performance improvement process initiatives within JPS Health Network and assigned department. The Concierge also performs patient registration, collection of payments, rooming, and patient discharge. Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level. Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider. Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior venipuncture competency check-off. Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow. If a medical assistant, then may perform injections with the appropriate competency checkoff Assists provider with procedures to include, but not limited to maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and assists with ortho-glass application. Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion of radiology examinations within the licensed scope of practice as ordered and verified by the provider.
