Essential Functions:

  • Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
  • Assesses individualized patient needs and plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
  • Ensures clinic processes and workflows comply with regulatory and policy compliance.
  • Works closely with providers and other team members to ensure a smooth clinic flow addressing patient/parent concerns and attaining positive patient and family outcomes.
  • Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.


Education Requirement:

  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited school, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must successfully complete BSN within 5 years of start date.

Licensure Requirement:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio, required.


Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, required

Experience:

Three years of pediatric clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Attends daily Grand Multidisciplinary Rounds with assigned provider and follows with an update to charge RN and primary RN team. Performs nursing delegations in emergent and non-emergent situations as clinical needs present or by request from management. Complete wound assessment and documentation on patients with wound consults in Inpatient department. Document and communicate findings and intervention recommendations to requesting provider. (Wound staging can only be provided by providers and nurses with wound certification.) Assists with departmental staffing needs as assigned. Maintains all departmental, nursing, and house-wide competencies. Attends all mandatory education and in-services (i.e., team training, safety, infection control, etc.); completes mandatory health requirements.
