The opportunity:

The Academic Advisor plays a critical role in supporting student success in Stepful’s fully-accredited, 15-month asynchronous RN-to-BSN program. This person serves as a consistent point of contact for students, helping them stay on track academically, navigate challenges, and successfully progress through a rigorous, online program with live touchpoints and in-person clinical components.

This is a high-touch, student-facing role that combines academic advising, coaching, and real-time intervention. You’ll work closely with Stepful’s nursing instructors and broader team to help students from enrollment to graduation.

This is a fully remote, part-time, 1099 contract position.

What you’ll do:

  • Serve as the primary advisor for a cohort of nursing students, from onboarding through graduation
  • Build strong relationships with students to drive engagement, retention, and program completion
  • Proactively identify at-risk students and intervene early to improve outcomes
  • Provide 1:1 coaching sessions to support study skills, time management, and clinical readiness
  • Help students understand program expectations, schedules, and clinical requirements
  • Work closely with instructors, clinical coordinators, and operations teams to ensure a seamless student experience
  • Support students in navigating Stepful’s LMS, virtual classroom tools, and other required technology platforms

What you’ll bring:

  • Professional experience as a Registered Nurse and active RN license
  • A bachelor’s in nursing (BSN) degree
  • Experience in teaching, academic advising, student support, or clinical education
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and motivate students
  • Strong communication skills and high attention to detail to ensure our students’ issues are resolved in the most efficient manner
  • Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week and the flexibility to offer evening and/or weekend support to students who are simultaneously working in the medical field

The hourly rate range for this opportunity is $25.00/hour - $30.00/hour. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
