Summary

The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Bariatric Surgery practice and General Surgery care team.

The PA/NP will work under specific accreditation standards in collaboration with an attending physician to develop and implement direct care for Bariatric Surgery patients.  The position will be primarily clinic-based in the Williston office, with regularly scheduled shifts in the OR at both UVMMC’s Main Hospital in Burlington and the Fanny Allen Campus in Colchester.

Schedule

  • This is a 1.0 FTE exempt position that will be scheduled to work five 8-hour shifts per week; 8am – 4:30pm Monday through Friday.

  • No call or weekends required.

  • Occasional adjustments to this schedule may be made to accommodate earlier starts based on OR support or patient needs.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years full time clinical PA/NP practice experience required.

  • The ideal candidate will have familiarity and experience with robotic surgical procedures

  • This position requires an experienced practitioner who exhibits a high degree of independence and clinical autonomy.  New graduates are not able to be successfully supported in this role.

Education & Licensure

  • Master’s degree required; Doctorate degree preferred.

  • Current (or eligible) licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) from the VT State Board of Nursing or as a Physician Assistant (PA) from the VT State Board of Medical Practice.
