Requirements and Preferred Experience:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Georgia
  • Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric environment preferred
  • Understanding of student health protocols, including medication administration and emergency response
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to maintain accurate health records and ensure confidentiality
  • CPR and First Aid certification required

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, addressing injuries and acute illnesses as needed
  • Manage and deliver care for students with chronic health conditions, developing Individualized Healthcare Plans where appropriate
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records and ensure compliance with health regulations and reporting requirements
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
  • Act as a liaison between school staff, families, and healthcare providers to promote optimal student health
  • Offer education on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention to students and school community
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and implement protocols as required
