JOB SUMMARY:

The LPN I is an integral part of the care team and a key contributor to delivering high quality care that is compassionate, consistent and reliable for our patients, families, units and the practices within the UVM Medical Center. The incumbent is involved in direct patient care under the direction of a provider or RN, provides technical nursing care to patients in varying states of health and illness and performs clinical and administrative health care support services to patients and families according to knowledge, ability, and duties assigned.

EDUCATION:

Current LPN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.

EXPERIENCE:

An LPN with less than two years of LPN experience, and less than 1 year of UVMMC employment, or an LPN with two or more years of LPN experience, and less than 6 months of UVMMC employment, and does not meet criteria to become and LPN II (see Career Ladder for criteria required to be an LPN II).
