Director of Nursing Service

DUTIES:

  • Supervises all nursing staff in the facility
  • Development and implementation of nursing policy and procedure
  • Recruits nursing staff with human resources and is part of the employee retention program
  • Member of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee
  • Overseeing quality measures and case mix-index
  • Performs root cause analysis on hospital transfers and identifies education or correction need
  • Leads the fall, skin and infection committees
  • Actively participates in and oversees facility investigations.
  • Ensures the facility’s continuing education/ in-service program
  • Oversees competency testing of all clinical staff
  • Ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service

REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing and Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Five years’ experience in long-term care
  • Three-five years’ experience in management
  • Thorough knowledge of the scope of practice of professional and paraprofessional healthcare providers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills
  • Good Organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good judgement. Ability to solve practical problems.
