Overview

 

We are seeking a Catheterization Laboratory RN, sometimes referred to as a Cardiac RN or Cath Lab RN. A Cath Lab RN is essential in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of cardiac catheterization procedures, contributing significantly to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases specifically with the cardiac catheterization lab.

 

Shifts Available: Days 

Employment Type: Full Time 

Hours: 9-hour shift – 7:30am to 5:00pm (Monday – Thursday)

Location: Providence Medical Center – Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Assess patients, obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, and prepare patients for cardiac catheterization procedures (Pre-Procedure Preparation)
  • Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angioplasties, stent placements, electrophysiological studies, and other cardiac interventions (Intra-Procedure Assistance)
  • Monitoring patient post-procedure for complications, provide post-procedure instructions, and ensuring patient stability before discharge or transfer to another unit
  • Operate and troubleshoot complex medical equipment used in the catheterization lab, such as hemodynamic monitors and other diagnostic tools
  • Quickly respond to any emergencies or complications that arise during procedures, such as arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, or bleeding
  • Accurately document all aspects of patient care, including pre-procedure assessments, intra-procedure details, and post-procedure outcomes
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac care and catheterization techniques

Qualifications

 

Education, Work Experience & Qualifications: 

  • Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License required
  • Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required
  • One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
