Qualifications Certifications and Licensures: BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification is required RN (Registered Nurse) license is required ACLS Certification, if required by department Nurse Specialty certification is preferred Education Associates degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma is required Bachelors degree in Nursing is preferred Experience 18 months of RN experience is required. 18 months of RN experience in pre-op is preferred. Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team. The Registered Nurse is also responsible for professional accountability and development. The registered nurse collaborates and communicates with inter-disciplinary care providers in developing and assisting in plan of care Organizes and prioritizes and updates plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and significant others Identifies patients at risk for injury regarding diagnosis, medication, procedure, age, etc., and prepares room environment.
