Director of Nursing Service

DUTIES:

Supervises all nursing staff in the facility
Development and implementation of nursing policy and procedure
Recruits nursing staff with human resources and is part of the employee retention program
Member of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Committee
Overseeing quality measures and case mix-index
Performs root cause analysis on hospital transfers and identifies education or correction need
Leads the fall, skin and infection committees
Actively participates in and oversees facility investigations.
Ensures the facility’s continuing education/ in-service program
Oversees competency testing of all clinical staff
Ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service

REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS

NYS Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Graduate of an approved school of nursing and Associate or Bachelor’s Degree
Five years’ experience in long-term care
Three-five years’ experience in management
Thorough knowledge of the scope of practice of professional and paraprofessional healthcare providers
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good computer skills
Good Organizational and interpersonal skills.
Good judgement. Ability to solve practical problems.
