Instructor - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner , Casa de Amigos Health Center

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) is seeking to hire an Advanced Practice Provider (Instructor). The department consists of faculty committed to providing care to diverse and underserved populations in the Greater Houston area and Harris County. Job Duties

Responsibilities include performing a full spectrum family medicine clinical services for multi-cultural communities by fulfilling a variety of duties to provide quality patient care to the sick or injured, preventive care, acute, and chronic disease care, pediatric and adult care, and/or care for others requiring healthcare services. This includes:

• Performing pertinent history and physical exams of patients
• Administering treatment and care management accordingly
• Performing and evaluating diagnostic procedures and laboratory tests within the scope of practice
• Providing adult and children, acute, preventive, and chronic medical care in continuity or same-day setting
• Following established protocols to manage specific patient problems/illnesses/care in collaboration with a supervising physician
• Providing constructive input on improving the delivery of services to the medical director and clinic manager
• Maintaining medical records using an electronic medical record
• Meeting or exceeding productivity targets and benchmarks established by the Department and College
• Providing self-direction with good organizational skills
• Communicating and working well within a collaborative team environment
• Adhering to Baylor College of Medicine and affiliates' policies and procedures
• Performing other tasks or special assignments as necessary to maintain proper operations and patient care
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

Physician Assistant:

• Master's degree from an approved Physician Assistant Program.
• License as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
  
  

Nurse Practitioner:

• Master's degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Current licensing as a Registered Nurse and as a WHCNP/FNP by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas and certification by a recognized certified body for nurse and recognition by the Board of Nurse Examiners as a Nurse Practitioner.
