Job Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership and direction to all staff members —including nursing, food management, and security — and ensuring an efficient workflow and effective communication
  • Supervising staff to promote effective and high-quality care, providing guidance as needed

  • Managing schedule approvals and supporting consistent, accurate time keeping
  • Maintaining open and effective communication among residents, families, nursing staff, and care providers
  • Implementing and upholding all safety protocols and procedures to protect resident well-being at all times
  • Ensuring staff adherence to infection control standards, medication safety practices, and fall prevention measures
  • Regularly assessing the resident care environment for potential risks and taking corrective action where needed
  • Driving interdisciplinary collaboration to resolve safety concerns and put evidence-based preventive measures into practice
  • Reinforcing a culture of transparency in which staff are encouraged to report adverse events, near misses, and errors openly and without fear of reprisal
  • Engaging in root cause analyses and investigations of resident safety incidents to uncover underlying issues and establish effective prevention strategies
  • Proactively tracking advances in clinical safety and evidence-based practices, applying relevant findings to improve resident care
  • Managing the full spectrum of resident care coordination, including assessments, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and all admissions and discharges
  • Confirming that all resident care plans are developed and executed in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines
  • Continuously monitoring resident condition and treatment response, and taking timely action when issues are identified
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote coordinated care and deliver optimal outcomes for residents
  • Actively monitoring and ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies
  • Scheduling and conducting regular audits to assess nursing care quality and pinpoint areas where improvements can be made
  • Remaining fully accountable to follow and adhere to the Resident Care Plan as defined

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current and valid state-issued RN license
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or charge nurse experience in the past 5 years
  • Demonstrated ability to stay composed and problem solve effectively under pressure
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking capabilities
  • Experience with implementing healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritize competing tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and ongoing improvement
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
