Requirements

Minimum of 3 years experience as a Surgical Tech OR 2-years Surgical Technologist First Assistant - Main OR experience.
High School or Equivalent
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Job Requirements POSITION SUMMARY The Obstetrics (OB) Scrub Technologist uses sterile technique to prepare delivery rooms and perform a variety of technical activities including assistance with surgical procedures and vaginal deliveries in Labor and Delivery, as well as patient care and support activities, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES Performs a variety of duties in an operating room or birthing room observing proper techniques to include preparing rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment. Checks materials and equipment for proper functioning and adequacy; reports faulty equipment and instruments per policy. Anticipates needs of the unit surgical team in the operating and birthing rooms; cooperates with the nurse in the individualized plan of care for each patient.
