The Chief Nursing Officer is a key member of our Senior Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.   • Licensure: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of MI.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program; Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.  Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five or more years of progressive nursing management experience in behavioral health setting preferred
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.

About the unit Zeeland Hospital Surgical Services has three operating rooms, one c-section room, and two endoscopy procedure rooms . We provide outpatient and inpatient care to the hospital and our community. About this Unit The Grand Haven Ambulatory Surgical Center is a 1 operating room and 1 Endoscopy suite facility. We have 6 pre/post endoscopy rooms, 12 Pre/post OR rooms and 8 PACU bays . Our outpatient surgical center has Endoscopies, such as Esophagogastroduodenoscopies, and Colonoscopies. We also have services with orthopedic , ENT, general surgery, pain, and gynecological. This outpatient surgical center does not have a hospital attached all the surgeries are outpatient. We do not have weekend or night hours. This surgical unit is a great place to advance your assessment skills, work as a team , and be flexible in your assignments. Scope of Work The Surgical Service Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour accountability for managing, supervising, and coordinating the operational and financial effectiveness and efficiency of the nursing services/ unit of the hospital. Develops policies, procedures and processes in coordination with other leaders to ensure the highest quality services are provided at all times to all customers. Assures presence of a supportive and healthy work environment that promotes retention and embraces diversity.
