Registered Nurse (RN), Obstetrics

Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Obstetrics team!

 

Description:

The selected applicant will assess patients, plan, implement, evaluate, and record professional nursing care given to patients as well as supervise and evaluate care administered by other members of the health care team.

 

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates knowledge and application of nursing process for OB/GYN and antepartum patients
• Provides direct and individualized nursing care including education to assigned patients based on nursing standards.
• Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care.
• Supports, maintains and provides an environment which is supportive of quality patient care through effective use of resources and personnel.
• Maintains a cooperative manner towards patients, families, caregivers and other health care staff.
• Serves as patient and family advocate with respect to the patients' right to privacy by protecting confidential information
• Supports teamwork and a positive work environment on the unit by engaging in open communication with peers and displaying a willingness to assist others.
• Evaluates and documents patient response; monitors and recognizes changes in physiological and psychosocial status; takes appropriate action based on assessment of the patient
• Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• BLS, ACLS & PALS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Fetal Monitoring & NRP required within 90 days of hire.
• No experience required if educational and licensure requirements are met.
• Must be dependable, flexible and committed to providing outstanding patient care.

 

Hours:

This is a full-time, night shift position working 7:00pm - 7:00am. Will include rotating weekends and holidays. Other hours may be assigned for the effective operation of the department.
