RN Nurse Manager - Inpatient Crisis Psychiatric

RN Nurse Manager for the Bridges Acute Care Crisis Psychiatric Unit at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in San Pedro, CA. This is a full-time leadership position.

Accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the inpatient nursing unit and/or FTE's over 50 on a 24 hour basis. Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the unit manager position. Demonstrates proficiency in delivering care to assigned age specific patient population (e.g., infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, pediatrics), and participates in related continuing education.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

  • California Registered Nurse License upon hire.

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

  • 3 years of recent clinical experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 years recent RN experience in Inpatient Acute Psych

  • 2 years recent leadership experience as a Clinical Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager or Nurse Manager in Inpatient Acute Psych

Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current and valid state RN License 2. Current BLS upon hire and maintain current. 3. Previous supervisory experience, preferred. 4. Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws, Practice Standards, interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavior health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral units. 5. Continuum of care for behavioral health care, preferred. 6. Receive/ maintain LPS Certification as deemed necessary. 7. Must obtain approved training on LPS statuses and patient rights and successfully pass LPS Certification exam. 8. Must have approved LPS certification prior to writing 5150 holds in designated Prime facilities. 9. LPS Professionals: Must have experience in an inpatient mental health facility per County requirements. 10. Patients Rights Education/ Competency required 30 days upon hire and maintain current. 11. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, preferred. The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care to the patient whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. Establishes a helping relationship using a holistic approach. The RN ensures quality and appropriateness of care for all age groups in the unit-specific patient population to include neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Requirements: Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred. At least, three (3) years of experience in ED/ICU/CCU preferred.
