The BridgeWay is looking for a dynamic behavioral health professional who is dedicated and passionate about providing quality services and care to our community. Under the direction of the Director of Assessment and Referral, the Intake RN assures smooth and orderly admissions into the hospital.  Receives incoming admission inquiry calls, assesses patients for admission, and makes appropriate referrals. The Intake RN helps streamline the patient experience by completing the necessary assessments and medical documentation moving the patient through the admission process to the unit. The RN is responsible for assisting with the achievement of patient outcomes in accordance with the missions of the hospital. This is a full-time weekday position, Monday - Friday.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Certifications:   

  • Current RN Nursing license.
  • Two years clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
  • Handle with Care and CPR required (offered onsite).

Total education, vocational training and experience: 

  • Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Ability to assess the physical, emotion, and psychological needs of patients.
  2. Ability to determine suitability of admission to the hospital based on clinical and financial criteria.
  3. Ability to make independent and responsible decisions.
  4. Good knowledge of admitting and insurance verification.
  5. Must have ability to work under stressful circumstances with frequent interruptions.
  6. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required to communicate with patients, families, referral sources, community agencies, and staff. 
  7. Knowledge of telephone etiquette is required.
  8. Must be able to interact with patients, physicians, families and hospital personnel in a professional manner.
  9. Work is of medium demand, requiring heavy telephone and personal contact with patients, referral sources, community agencies, and insurance companies.EEO Statement

Overview The Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN) will work with a team of physicians, other nurses, patient care techs, and other professionals from various departments of the hospital such as Laboratory, Radiology, and Respiratory Therapy. CRHS ED is a certified Level III Trauma Center, AR SAVES spoke site and receiving site, and a designated Arkansas Stroke Ready Hospital (ArSRH). The ED RN is part of a team that provides care for traumatically injured patients, and critically ill patients suffering from life threatening conditions such as Heart Attack or Stroke. The ED RN works alongside the team with the common goal of providing compassionate, quality care to a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics within a fast paced environment. The ED RN will assess and monitor a wide array of health conditions and injuries, administer medications, and perform procedures such as moderate sedation, intraosseous and intravascular therapy, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
