Minimum Requirements

  • Active NY RN License

  • Previous nursing experience required

  • Correctional, Med-Surg, Behavioral Health, Emergency Room, or Long-Term Care experience preferred

  • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

The Correctional Care nursing staff provides clinical care at either Downtown Detention Center or the Denver County Jail. The detention centers employ a high level of security, which impacts daily working conditions, including both personal and institutional safety and clinical operations. Environmental awareness, critical thinking, and decisive, decision-making skills are required in the correctional care setting.
