Job Title: Director of Nursing
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee our nursing department and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The DON will play a pivotal role in the leadership of our nursing staff, compliance with regulatory standards, and the overall management of nursing operations within our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Provide visionary leadership to the nursing team, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Recruit, train, and mentor nursing staff, fostering professional development and enhancing clinical competencies.
Conduct performance evaluations and implement strategies for improvement.
Clinical Oversight:
Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered nursing care.
Develop and implement nursing protocols, policies, and procedures in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Monitor patient care outcomes, quality metrics, and patient satisfaction surveys, addressing any areas for improvement.
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
Stay abreast of state and federal regulations and ensure the nursing department complies with all applicable laws and standards.
Coordinate and prepare for regulatory surveys and audits, ensuring all documentation and practices meet required standards.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans and enhance patient care.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff regarding care plans and health outcomes.
Address any patient or family concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
Assist in the development and management of the nursing department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Monitor staffing levels and make recommendations for staffing adjustments based on patient needs.
Quality Improvement:
Lead initiatives aimed at improving nursing care quality and patient safety.
Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing practices.
Qualifications:
Current RN licensure in the state.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in a long-term care or rehabilitation setting.
Strong knowledge of nursing practices, regulations, and quality improvement methodologies.
