The LPN – Emergency Department (ED) Clerk functions in a dual role, providing both clerical support and direct patient care within the LPN scope of practice under the supervision of an RN or provider. This position supports efficient ED operations and patient throughput by performing unit clerk responsibilities (managing the tracking board, processing orders, coordinating communication, and maintaining accurate documentation in the EMR) while also delivering basic clinical care, including obtaining vital signs, performing focused assessments, administering medications as permitted, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, and reporting changes in patient condition. The ideal candidate holds a current Louisiana LPN license, BLS certification (ACLS/PALS preferred), and demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced emergency care environment, with the ability to flex between clerical and clinical responsibilities based on departmental needs.

The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment. The Medical Support Specialist follows guidance provided by BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). How you will contribute: You will determine donor eligibility; to include, proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including the development of Center Physician's standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
