Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech at AdventHealth Mills Park Surgery Center

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certification as required by state and/or center
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians

Position Overview The Scrub Technician plays a critical role in supporting vascular surgeons and the clinical team during complex endovascular and interventional procedures. Working in our Office-Based Laboratory (OBL), the Scrub Tech assists with procedures such as angiograms, venograms, prostate artery embolization (PAE), genicular artery embolization (GAE), and other minimally invasive vascular interventions. This position ensures the sterile field is properly maintained, all instruments are prepared and accounted for, and that the surgical team is supported in achieving safe and efficient case flow. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field for all vascular and interventional procedures. Anticipate surgeon needs and provide appropriate instruments and supplies throughout the case. Assist with the setup and breakdown of procedure rooms, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and properly functioning. Handle surgical instruments and devices in accordance with aseptic technique.
