Infection Control Nurse (IC Nurse) – RN/LPN Responsibilities
The Infection Control Nurse (IC Nurse) is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, educating, and directing infection prevention and control programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Assist with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining CDC, OSHA, state, and local infection prevention and control regulations.
Serve as the primary education resource for staff, residents, and visitors regarding infection control and infection prevention practices.
Maintain written records of residents and employees with community-acquired or healthcare-associated infections.
Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, and other administrative duties as required.
Provide direct nursing care as needed.
Infection Control Nurse (IC Nurse) – RN/LPN Qualifications
Active, current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the State of Missouri.
IP/IC Certified.
Two (2) years or more of clinical experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related healthcare setting.
Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious disease, aseptic technique, and standard/transmission-based precautions.
