The Experienced Clinical Nurse on the GU/Breast/Hospital Medicine at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating, and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care. A 30-bed inpatient unit providing care to adult medical oncology inpatients with a diagnosis of solid tumor malignancies; primary services include genitourinary, breast, and internal medicine. Patients require nursing interventions for the management of chronic and acute disease related symptoms, pain control, treatment related side effects; chemotherapy and biotherapy administration: patient and family teaching. The weekend Case Manager will focus on ensuring safe, timely, and efficient patient discharges and care transitions when hospital operations continue but support services are often limited.
