Clinical Nurse, Outpatient - Sarcoma Center

The Sarcoma and Orthopaedic Center specializes in treating rare and complex cancers and tumors of the bones and soft tissues, including muscle, joints, and blood vessels. Our team manages both benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors, metastatic cancers, and pediatric cases.

In addition to sarcoma care, we address orthopaedic conditions common in cancer patients, such as arthritis, fractures, osteoporosis, and avascular necrosis. Patients benefit from a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, rheumatologists, pain specialists, and other experts dedicated to comprehensive, compassionate care.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed RN with at least one year of oncology nursing experience. Certification in Oncology Nursing is preferred.

Shift: Monday-Friday typically 8am- 5pm no weekends or holidays

Salary: $68,000 - minimum - $105,200 midpoint - $142,500 maximum

Summary

The primary purpose of the Outpatient Clinical Nurse position is to coordinate and implement patient care across the continuum of care. The Outpatient Clinical Nurse is accountable and responsible for providing quality, evidence-based patient care through the appropriate use of resources in collaboration with the inter-professional team. Acts as a patient and family advocate to uphold patient rights. Organizes and prioritizes work of patient care team; trains, coaches and assists team members to ensure optimum patient care and efficient use of resources.

EDUCATION

Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Required: Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761).

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in the following departments: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi - Child & Adolescent Center (113200).

Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification, Certification in specialty practice.

FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assists in the development of department budget and ensures that the department operates in a cost-effective manner. Manages/audits department expenses within approved budget parameters, ensuring that the department meets the budgeted/flex revenue and/or expense targets on a monthly and annual basis. Develops staffing plans and schedules to meet department/patient care needs that reflect understanding of the importance of cost-effectiveness. Implements department strategies to achieve financial target and staffing needs, developing others to do the same, through optimizing productivity, supply/resource efficiency, minimizing incidental overtime and overtime percentage, and other areas according to department specifications. Plans coverage of unit to maximize presence of management and staff.
